J&P Educação E Promotoria de Vendas LTDA(“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Vera mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use Vera, and describes your rights under applicable data protection laws — including Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

Account Information

• Full name
• Email address
• Encrypted password (we never store passwords in plain text)

Plant Photos & Content

• Photos you capture or upload for plant identification, stored in association with your account to power the Plant Collection feature.

Device & Technical Data

• Device identifiers (e.g., push notification tokens)
• Operating system and app version
• IP address (used for security and fraud prevention)

Usage & Analytics Data

• Screens visited, features used, and in-app actions (collected in aggregate or pseudonymously)
• Session duration and frequency of use

Crash & Diagnostic Reports

• Error logs and crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Deliver core App features: plant identification, care scheduling, and plant collection management.
• Process your subscription and billing (via Google Play).
• Send service-related communications (e.g., account verification, care reminders, subscription updates).
• Improve the App through analytics and crash diagnostics.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or prohibited activity.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for behavioral advertising.

We may share your data with the following categories of recipients:

• Service providers who help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, AI processing), bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

The App uses the following third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, database storage, file storage, analytics, and crash reporting. Subject to the Firebase Privacy Policy.
• AI Plant Identification API — Plant photos are sent to an AI service to identify the plant species. Photos may be processed on external servers but are not permanently retained by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the App’s services. Specifically:

• Account data (name, email) is retained until you request account deletion.
• Plant photos and collection data are retained as long as they are part of your active plant collection.
• Analytics and crash logs are retained for up to 24 months and then automatically deleted or anonymized.
• After account deletion, your data is permanently erased within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax compliance.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Under LGPD (Brazil) and GDPR (EU)

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data. See our Data Deletion page for instructions.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Restriction / Objection: Request that we restrict or stop processing your data in certain circumstances.
• Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Under CCPA (California)

• Opt out of the “sale” of personal data — we do not sell personal data, so this right is not applicable.

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, and access controls limited to authorized personnel.

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States (via Google Firebase infrastructure). We ensure that any such transfers are made in compliance with applicable data protection laws and with appropriate safeguards in place (e.g., standard contractual clauses for GDPR purposes).

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contato@techeducation.com.br and we will promptly delete that data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify you via in-app notice or email at least 15 days before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
